Loony leftie Facebook founder, Jesse Eisenberg, has sensationally BANNED legendary British humour comic VIZ from his time wasting, cat video, and racism bulletin board.

If this was a case where it was a ban because of foul language then it's a mystery to me as to why a whole slew of other pages haven't been banned.

They seem more offended by it's brand of humour, which when actually understood quite obviously is twisted irony and acerbic wit.

I only say this because of the amount of more crude and possibly offensive groups and sites on Facebook that do not get hassle.

Viz also use a humour method that makes them look like they are being thing like homphobic or even racist when what they are doing is reflecting attitudes of the public and taking the piss out of them.

For instance they have a fake letters page called "Letter Bocks" and letter Bocks is a satire on the letter pages of British newspapers like The Daily Mail, Express and Sun.

In those pages you will find casual racisim, homophobia, classisim and xenophobia.

I often share the fake letters I find funny one I shared recently read:

"I wonder if your readers can help me. I am having rabbit for dinner tonight and I wondered if it would be cheaper to buy it from a supermarket or a petshop".

I can see dim witted animal rights protesters complaining about that. Point being it was making fun of stupid people sending in stupid letters, saying stupid things.

In the magazine world that's healthy, no magazine on British shelves have a readership that doesn't make the owner worry. It's a dying art.

Honestly, with the type of humour it has I can only see it being niche in big markets like the U.S.

That 1.2 million figure is from 1990, when Viz was the biggest selling title on UK newsstands that didn't have 'Womens ...' or 'TV ...' as the first word in its name. Sales of *ALL* UK newsstand titles have plummeted since 1990.

50,000 sales puts VIZ comfortably in front of any other comic strip or humour title on UK newsagents' shelves, including UK titles like The Beano and Private Eye, and US reprint gash such as Spiderman, Batman, Star Wars and Barbie.

It's also owned by billionaire Felix Dennis. It's one of his longest running signature titles, and one he regards with great affection, so the comic's TWO MAN staff probably don't have to worry about sales targets or where their next pay check is coming from:

Private Eye is the exception. It's about the only one that is stable, partly because of its content, mostly because of its readership.

Controversy

The comic was reprimanded by the United Nations after featuring a strip called "The Thieving Gypsy Bastards". During the resulting court case, UK newspaper The Sun ran a story revealing that the principal Roma man who initiated the action against them was in fact also being tried for (and was later found guilty of) handling stolen property.
