When discussing literature with people in real life, does anyone else feel unable to properly impart the essence of what you describe? I was with a group of people and we were discussing the last books we had read - I mentioned the Red and the Black, and since nobody had heard of it I tried to describe the book. Before even arriving at the first adjective the thought passed my mind that regardless of what I can think of to say, I won't be able to tell them how good the book is, and they'll nod respectively and forget about everything I may have said 10 minutes later.
