How do you make stories of intrigue interesting? Or do you? Is it pandering? I have this story about financial crime and corporate espionage, but it's dense, has more characters than will fit in 10 clown cars, and it is shaping up to be fucking long.

With stories like these should you worry about making them more marketable, or is that compromising your creative integrity? Because that's what it feels like.
