Depends on what do you mean seeing more. More light or you can recognize more shapes and colors?

No it doesnt change anything...
Its all about the chromophors (some coloured molecules in the receptors on the retina) which get stimulated by the wavelength of light.
The more different chromphor types you have, the more different wavelengths of light you can see (for example UV and infrared)
